Getting an Arabic company name right
- Spell it the simple way. Registries transliterate by sound, so "Jusoor" and "Jusur" are the same name to them. Pick the spelling customers will type.
- Say it aloud in English. Make sure the Latin spelling doesn't read as an awkward English word.
- Avoid religious and royal words. Names of God, holy places and royal titles are refused in the UAE. See the full rules.
- Add a word for uniqueness. "Masar Logistics" or "Masar Freight" is more likely to be free than "Masar" alone.

Questions
What are good Arabic names for a business?
Short nouns with a positive meaning work best, such as Itqan (mastery), Masar (path), Manara (lighthouse), Jusoor (bridges) or Ufuq (horizon). Pair the word with your activity to make it distinctive.
Can I register an Arabic word as a company name in the UAE?
Yes. Arabic words written in Latin letters are common in UAE trade names, as long as they are not religious terms, royal titles or already registered for a similar activity.
How should I spell an Arabic business name in English?
Use the simplest spelling that matches the pronunciation. UAE registries compare names by sound, so alternative spellings of the same word count as the same name.

How to choose a company name that gets approved
- Check the register first: names identical or very close to an existing company are refused.
- Avoid regulated words such as Bank, Insurance, Capital or Trust unless you hold the licence.
- In the Gulf, avoid religious, royal or government terms and place names such as Dubai or Emirates.
- In the UK, sensitive words such as British, Royal, Charity or Institute need prior approval.
- Secure the .com and the country domain on the same day you reserve the name.
The rule checks are a quick screen based on published guidance, not legal advice. The registry has the final say.
